I recently heard something along the lines of "economic impact on host cities is in the billions". Is this true? Probably for all host cities in aggregate. Certainly not for a single host city. 7 of the 30 AHL teams currently play in arenas with a capacity of 15,000 or more. So, Sprint Center is a reasonable location.

I took the Mavericks statement as meaning they would not be the AHL team. Not that there wouldn't be an AHL team, it would just be a different team than the Mavericks.

if you have ever taken amtrak out of chicago to st. louis, you will notice how MANY college kids disembark at bloomington-normal for illinois state. i think half of the university rides amtrak! granted, there's a station right on top of campus. The trade-off would be bypassing Sedalia and Warrensbu...

I go to school at UCM in Warrensburg and campus is full of foreign born Indian students. Don't know why, but there's seemed to be a real boom the last few years.

Was downtown today (live in Warrensburg for school) and everyone I saw was parked perfectly inside the lines and the "thin" spots were just left empty. Must have scared them into it.
