Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does this help publicly with the ask for a new stadium?
Showing they are willing to go out and spend the money on "the guy" is at least a glimmer of hope when you're asking the tax payers to vote on what have been very bad teams since the WS squad split up.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Kansas city is weird as well because like no one watches them? I know not literally, but they're not easy to watch. Because Google is so popular here and the team is so shit, most people don't bother. So many people I would visit would have them on in the background, but now I never see them on. Th...

Re: New Riverfront Women's Soccer Stadium
The WNBA has lost atleast 10 million a year. The only reason it's around is because it's subsidized by the NBA Like all womens sports unfortunately. Womens Tennis is great and they sell the matches out Women's tennis players actually make more money per set (at least in the Grand Slams) than the men.

Re: KC Curling Club
This has slowed to a crawl with Covid but here is the most recent update: Although we have experienced some delays due to COVID and other circumstances, it is still our plan to move forward with the dedicated ice facility in Blue Springs. The owner of our future facility contacted the building commi...

Re: Missouri Amtrak Service
Do we know when the new cars will be in service? I've got a few upcoming rides on the River Runner this Spring and Summer and wondering if there's a chance I will see them.

The wife and I have enjoyed the Little Blue Trace Trail quite a bit. It's very conveniently located for us and long enough we can choose different sections to shake things up a little bit.

KC Curling Club
The KC Curling Club has announced plans to have a dedicated curling facility open by September. New facility will be in Blue Springs, just off the Woods Chapel Rd exit. They have been playing at the Line Creek Ice Arena up north for several years. https://kccurling.com/dedicated-ice https://kccurlin...

Re: Do you have or plan to get Google Fiber?
I have normal level xfinity internet, and have not experienced any real problems with YoutubeTV in the year I have had it. I did previously have problems with stuttering when I would Cast from say the FoxSports app, or NBC app to my Google ChromeCast but those have seemingly disappeared as well.

I still think that's definitely preferable over driving or plane.brewcrew1000 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 4:27 pm Yes. 2 trains a day would be great but I dont think it would look like SW chief. It would be more like the River Runner

Re: Missouri Amtrak Service
Some friends and I took the Southwest Chief to Chicago a few weeks ago for a conference. We are all semi-frequent users of the River Runner, but had never used the Chicago service yet. I have to say, we all agreed afterwards that it was by far the most enjoyable way to get to Chicago. None of the st...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?
I recently heard something along the lines of "economic impact on host cities is in the billions". Is this true? Probably for all host cities in aggregate. Certainly not for a single host city. It isn't a local team (unless the USA draws your city), so you could potentially have 40 to 60k...
