Re: Troost developments

So did Clemons take ownership?

Getting the property out of the Herrons' hands (and having a clean title) sounds like a good thing.

Do you know if more of their properties are being foreclosed?

Cool. Looks like a good start. I'll keep an eye on it.

Here is another site that tracks development, if you want to use it as another resource:

Re: Uptown Shoppes

It looks like things are starting to move forward with the redevelopment plan of the Uptown Shoppes. A blight study and an application for rezoning have been submitted. I don't see any renderings or site plans, but there is a description stating a "mixed use development (211 apt, 92 rooms hotel & 43...

Which was the Tim Bowman project? Was that part of Troost Market Collective?

It looks like the building is still on the market, but maybe it hasn't been updated yet.

Re: Troost developments

The parapet detail work on the Firestone building at Linwwod and Troost is getting cleaned up. Anyone know if there is anything behind that (new owner/tenant)? Something called Dream Muscle Coffee is going into the former Urban Cafe space. I was thinking that "dream muscle" might refer to the brain....

Re: Open Spaces - Kansas City Arts Experience

The Ethnic Fest was pretty packed this year on the day I went. I hadn't been in a few years and I was surprised at the size of the crowd. Any more people and it probably would have been too much. I'm planning on going to Open Spaces on Sunday. On the general topic of festivals, I would love to see S...

Re: Pendleton Heights rocks!

I saw someone had submitted a plan to build two infill single family homes at 119 and 121 Brooklyn Ave. I'm not sure who is behind it, but I wonder if this could start a trend of some more infill sfh in the area. I only see the plans/drawings for one home: 2 Bed, 1200 sqft home. This rendering they ...

Two different business owners in the area have told me there are plans to turn the El Torreon into a nightclub with dining, entertainment and dancing.
Would this mean the church is moving out? Or would it just be in the current event space?

Re: Rockhill Greens senior housing development moves forward

The entirety of the plan for the Rockhill Greens site is a little unclear to me, but there is also a non-senior apartment development planned for the north end of this site. It is being developed by Sunflower and designed by Clockwork. This BizJournal article from September of last year lays out the...

Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.

I was glad to see that MAC still seems to be moving forward with site prep even if the project is being held up by Shields. I saw the tanks being removed from the gas station site today. It looked like a core sample was being taken on the NE corner and other work was happening on the SW corner.

Really? I went there when they first opened and ordered a gyro and it was the size of a taquito. I literally ate it in 4 bites and was out $8. Maybe they got the message and upped their portions. I’ll have to try again. They did up their game after opening. My first trip or two when they first open...

The last remaining home of the Mirabelle II site had been demoed and site work is happening.

Pardon the pun, but it appears that Pulse Development does still have a heartbeat. I wonder if we will hear any news about their other development proposals.

On the topic of undeveloped green fields, construction fencing and a trailer just went up on a portion of the old Colonial Court Apartments site. This is right across the street from the 46 Summit development, so I'm guess this will just be a staging site for that project. There had been a sign up o...

The MAC development is being held up by Shields.
How exactly is she able to do that? What power does she have to hold this up by herself?

I don't know of any Troost development tracker. Your best resource might be reading through this thread. I don't know of much going on around 45th and Troost. The whole stretch of Troost between South Hyde Park and Manheim Park has had surprisingly few positive developments compared to other stretch...

I noticed two riders on the sign that said something along the lines of "restaurant tenant pending" and "market tenant pending". (you can see the riders on the second photo above, but can't make out the text).
