Maybe this has already been discussed, but is Clay Chastain really back with another proposal? Of course it includes a gondola:

From the successful developers of Garment House and Jon Russell's BBQ, we present.... something that will never open. And c'mon - Eat and Drink on 44? They're just trolling us now. I dare them to use a sans serif font. Looks like they have settled on the name Madison's Neighborhood Eatery and are n...

Re: West Plaza

It is supposed to be a restaurant/bar and coffee shop, tentatively called Eat and Drink on 44. It keeps getting delayed. I think it was originally supposed to open late last summer. Here is the most recent press I have seen, saying it would open in February. Overland Park-based restaurant and retail...

On another note what's going on with the midtown crossing project on Bellview?
Some tweaks were made and the final plan was recently submitted. I am not sure where that puts them in the timeline/approval process.

I remember seeing some permits issued for the renovation of that apartment building a little while back, but I haven't noticed any work happening.

Re: Troost developments

The other parcel on the corner was at least kept mowed, but still a waste of space. Which parcel are you referring to? Both of these parcels were junky auto businesses. If you're referring to the lot that used to have the domed tower remnant on it (SW corner of Troost and Brush Creek Blvd), that is...

Re: Troost developments

Almost anything would be better than what is there now. I'm interested how this fits into the site, as it backs up to single family homes. The fact that this project would be replacing two of the ugliest lots on Troost makes it all the more exciting. Here is the site plan with landscaping: http://i...

Re: Broadway

Looks like an updated rendering.

I know the store names in these renderings are just place holders, but I think it is funny how it went from Subway, Great Clips, and Starbucks to Fable (a closed Crossroads boutique), Revolve KC, and Kaldi's.

MAC does have the parking garage behind the International building. I believe tenants from any of their buildings can get a spot there. That is not too far from this building. Also, the 3-story brick box apartment building at 36th and Gillham was recently put up for sale. That building could use som...

The body shop just to the north of the Firehouse (which often looked more like a salvage yard) has been completely cleared out. I wonder if it has been sold, or is going to be put on the market. Here we go: http://i67.tinypic.com/2ccpix5.png 108 units, plus retail/restaurant. Phase 1 is the buildin...

Re: Martini Corner near 31st/Gilham

Damn that place was my favorite. Really? I was kind of disappointed in that place, especially after waiting so long for it to open. The pastries were good, but I thought the food was underwhelming. I think I only ate there twice - maybe I got the wrong things. I have been trying to eat healthier an...

American Century is looking for a tax abatement on renovations (both at their twin towers and the former H&R Block space). They are planning on adding 75 jobs over the next two years.

I wonder if they will ever do anything with all of their lots.

Re: Kansas, Missouri battle over companies

I am not completely sure this falls in the the border war category, but Avenue Logistics (based out of Chicago) is looking for incentives to put 80 new jobs in the Crossroads at 18th and McGee. They currently have an office in OP. I am not sure how many are currently employed at the OP location and ...

There was speculation in another thread that applications/demand for AL might be down (relative to their newly expanded capacity), but I did recently speak with someone who is currently number 50 on their waitlist, so it does appear they are still receiving considerably more applicants than availabl...

What's the part that still in early construction with the green plywood? Is that the townhomes? It looks like they are south of the main apartment development? I thought they would be across the street on the west side of McGee Trafficway? Those are the townhouses, as well as another apartment buil...

Re: Midtown Area Apartment Boom

It seems reasonable compared to other recent townhouse developments in the Midtown/Plaza area. The Tudors are starting in the upper $800s (I know, those are "luxury", larger, and going after a whole different bracket). I believe the townhouses across the Tudors built a couple years ago were around $...

Re: Midtown Area Apartment Boom

I believe these have been mentioned elsewhere, but I can't find the thread. The 3 townhouses being built on the 3400 block of Wyandotte have been listed for sale (actually only seeing 2 listings at this point). $272k seems pretty reasonable for new construction, although these are on the small side....

Re: "Tower East"

Back on Tower East news, I noticed a new for sale sign up on the warehouse building across the street from Urban Mining. It seems like that might be a tricky one for a conversion/reuse, but it will be interesting to keep an eye on. Converting and activating that building and the ice cream truck ware...
