Done deal, folks! The Catholic diocese closed today on the New York Life building. I know that some were lamenting the loss of tax revenue, but being the papist that I am...this is very exciting as it consolidates staff and puts a classy face on the diocese.

Its been talk for a long time. However, talk has finally turned into renovations.

The ground floor of the Manhattan Condos (700 East 8th Street) has a coffee shop and deli currently being built into it right off 8th. Estimated opening is April or May

Downstairs, we also have a salon that looks like its close to opening right off Admiral.

One of the first buyers in The Manhattan. I moved in almost two years ago. Came from Overland Park. Love it here!

Folks, there hasn't been much good news on the redevelopment of the downtown, lately. Today there is a great story. Kansas City's oldest church is again open for business at 8th and Cherry. Sounds like the same place...maybe they have been around a little longer than I thought. They said KCFX will be there this Thursday lunch to kick off the grand opening weekend.

From my understanding, its more of a St. Louis style. The sauce is outstanding and the toppings are very strong.
