Re: Westside happenings
Not that it would happen, but it should be considered realigning I-35 completely alone Beardsley / the railroad tracks and connecting just north of the 7th street Trafficway exit. I know it’s been sketched out on this forum before which is what gave me this idea. The cost would probably be insane b...

Re: Westside happenings
^I agree. If the bridge is past i's lifespan, now would be a good time to remove it and end 35 North at 7th Trafficway-Rainbow. 35 would begin again at the Bond Bridge That's not going to happen. If anything it will be one of the designs that sends it farther west. With the new bridge, I'd guess th...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
I noticed Google Maps still has the outline of Terminal A when you zoom in. Kind of annoying, because I'm sure the aviation department got them everything they need for a detailed model of the new terminal, but I'm sure it'll get updated eventually. Not to drag crap from other parts of the internet...

LOL. Russia and Qatar back-to-back. FIFA will only use human rights as a justification if it fits a narrative that makes them look good. I'm pretty sure human rights would only be used in an extreme coin toss scenario after all other things have been considered.

Re: Home prices across KC neighborhoods
Its awful when there are hardwood floors underneath that can be restored and refinished. There is a flip across the street from me where they did this and they even painted 125 year old craftsman woodwork and built ins that had never been painted. Too many flipped houses are not remodeled they are ...

Unless there was suddenly some giant mask-free crowds in KC that I didn't see...? My Facebook feed It’s not the big crowds, it’s the hundreds of small ones that matter This. My social media feed is full of unvaccinated KC folks having casual unmasked gatherings. Everyone has their own risk toleranc...

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!
If they are going to put a BBQ place in the airport and it's not an already established restaurant, it should be called Perry's Place after Henry Perry, the original creator of Kansas City BBQ. I just hope it isn't one of the abominations they've put in the airport in the past. Been a while since I...

It's fine the bones will be there to enhance as needed but it's not going to blow anybody's socks off with it's sexiness.

Personally I don't think that booing sitting out the anthem is especially better than booing empty gestures toward "unity," so I'm not sure how meaningful the distinction really is anyway. What I'm confused about is why anybody would expect anything else from a crowd of NFL fans willing t...

Re: Westside happenings
we need a good Greek/Mediterrian place downtown, cross roads. There is one on Grand downtown that is not bad but can't think of a go to in Crossroads. Heck just a good Gyro spot would be great Ask and ye shall receive. The old Lil's/Novel/temp-Fox-and-Pearl-space on 17th street is now a Turkish res...

I find that when people grow tired of discussing the actual issues because those discussions are hard and more nuanced than most want to admit, we resort to calling things "right" or "left" because that is really really easy and sounds totally true based on that one time we watch...

One hopes that if heat and humidity does have a significant impact, New Orleans will actually show it quite clearly within a few weeks. Mardi Gras being just a month ago was (hopefully) a/the cause of the initial spike, but weather in NO hasn't been above 85 degrees until this Monday (23rd). My only...

Re: Aggressive panhandlers
Now that downtown has been sapped of it's non-resident street life, we're back to the occasional jogger, dog walker, homeless, and panhandler. For those new the scene, this is what it was like on nights/weekends until about 2010? It still feels way busier to me. The number of newly built apartments...

I generally get great results with YTTV on the gig connection (also with Netflix). It highlights how bad and compressed some other streaming services are. HBO Now buffers frequently on Android TV and shows signs of poor compression, and Amazon Video is so highly compressed, it is almost distracting...
