Re: City Corridor Happy Hour Deals

charisse has a pretty good slate of snacks from $3-5-7 each, drinks too. 4-6 M-F. lamb sliders pretty good value quantity/dollar. ice house will feed you "sliders" that are almost too much food for $5 a pop, again drinks too. i believe 2-6 M-F. look to be basically more their taco-ish stuff than str...

Re: Various restaurants coming to City

We went to Streetcar Grille after a show and at first I was glad they were still serving food (sometimes tricky later) which seemed decent and reasonably priced, but my Tank 7 served in the typical small tulip glass was a nasty surprise at $9. (Draft beer prices were not listed...I mean it's a basi...

Re: Misc Crossroads News

https://thebaffler.com/latest/fuck-the-vessel-wagner The Vessel has invited nearly universal vitriol, even amongst the politest architecture critics. It is an object lesson teaching us that, in our neoliberal age of surveillance capitalism—an era where the human spirit is subjected to a regime of me...

none of those numbers count people who take positioning flights on separate itineraries, right? i'm sure that's a very low percentage anyway.

So, um, any comments on the proposed changes for September First Friday? https://www.facebook.com/notes/crossroads-community-association/changes-planned-for-september-first-friday/10157685501359742/ my walking around assumption based on zero reading before right now (so, my standard way of assessin...

Re: Misc Crossroads News

I think an early set time ending would have solved the problem more than removing a few trucks. It would probably solve the trash and noise issues the neighbors are rightfully frustrated with as well. The crossroads isn't controlled by a single company where they can set opening and closing times. ...

Re: Attention regional businesses

i walk to work and it would take a ludicrous raise to get me to leave for a job that would make me go back to driving. the jump from no car ever to very short drive always is way bigger than the jump from very short drive always to journey to the burbs, imo.

Re: Various restaurants coming to City

^That location on Broadway is so tough but maybe a restaurant will do better than just a bar/music venut that was my immediate reaction too, but having walked over there from up/down on a friday night i'm more optimistic. as long as people remember it exists i think it will be okay in the short/med...

Re: Various restaurants coming to City

grad school is pretty good. the jerk chicken and the burger were both something i'd happily order again. i like that you don't have to get wings to get the level of spice/heat that you want, as they treat that almost like a thai restaurant ("burger, spice level 4/5" is a valid order). i was a bit th...

Re: OFFICIAL - Lightwell (formerly City Center Square)

fun thread on wework's ipo here: https://twitter.com/seldo/status/1161708375815536640 excerpts: I think my favorite WeWork thing is that it rents buildings owned by the CEO, who bought the buildings by borrowing against WeWork's stock. Nobody seems to be questioning why this is okay, or why WeWork d...

Re: Cosentino's Grocery downtown

Even though my respect-o-meter pegged to 11 for Cosentino's, still wouldn't mind seeing a TJ's somewhere downtown or midtown. TJ's doesn't do prepared foods, no meat/seafood counter and is more specialty than C's. BTW, C's downtown seafood counter has slid over the years but I think you can still s...

Re: Pursuing FREE City-Wide Bus

in all seriousness i don't envy anyone who has to figure out the logistics of a trial run, or especially to make any projections from it. presumably the value in a real free city-wide bus system would be freeing people who previously had no choice but to tie up significant percentages of their avail...

Re: OFFICIAL - 909 Walnut

major building systems are probably fine, although complaints about maintenance line items from tenants are way up. unclear if that's an increase in occurrences of issues or just a decrease in response time. have seen some gnarly looking water damage photos in units since purchase. they're investing...

i would bet a lot of money that they know. they intentionally avoid having a point of contact. when there's been one, they're powerless to do anything. one of the google reviews of worcester investments by an employee from 3 years ago shits on similar things that are at issue here. the "reply" from ...
