Re: New Chiefs Stadium

We are not Green Bay or Buffalo. There is now badge or trophy for going to a dangerously cold football game. I’m proud of those fans who did but not envious in any way. The cold did play a role in the game for all players more so it appears for Miami. But if your argument is the aesthetics of the g...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

Tonight is exhibit A why arrowhead will never have a dome over it. Fans around the country were excited to watch. The viewing is better when watching the breath come out of players helmets. The fans in the stadium loved it and it was still 90% full, the players loved it and we had a tremendous home ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

instead of the location, I'd like to discuss the design. So populous is working on it I guess? 95% of their stadiums are boring, generic modern spaceships. They designed Miami and Atlanta's baseball stadiums which are both trash, but they also did Minneapolis and and New Yankee which are both great...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I hope the arrowhead renovation they brick the outside like lambeau. As it is now arrowhead looks like a space ship.
Bricking the new K downtown would also look beautiful.

Re: Worlds of Fun becoming Six Flags?

Might get a few more visitors per year. As far as the park, I think WoF has surpassed Six Flags st Louis. So I’m not sure the park atmosphere and rides will benefit. Honestly it’s a nice change going from six flags to WoF. Every six flags is the same. Looney toon characters running around. Also zero...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Dude KC is not even close to the same winter weather realm as Buffalo & Green Bay. Those are real snow cities that are guaranteed 1-2 snow games every year. KC gets a snow game like once every couple years, if even that. Arrowhead is known for the noise & atmosphere, not the outdoor weather...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Never going to understand people wanting a dome just for the fact that MAYBE we MIGHT get a Super Bowl once every 20 years.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I'm actually more curious about NKC now than before (although not for a ballpark). It was very clearly never a serious bid for the Royals (at least as presented in the pie-in-the-sky renderings obliterating all of downtown NKC), but nonetheless the Merriman's have in fact amassed a huge amount of l...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

If the Chiefs don't want to do spend anything then how about we use their leverage to build a streetcar line instead. If they don't want to spend the extra billion they could command that's what we should use it for. I assume you mean a light rail? It takes the street car 10 minutes to go like two ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Literally the first six results when googling "MLB stadium rankings", so not cherry picked 17th https://youtu.be/WDtd1QECbO8?t=584 This is the only one I clicked on FWIW. Seems the dude is only ranking these stadiums on the name of the stadium. Not the looks / feel? All he's talking about...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Kauffman is beautiful. Ya'll ever seen the infamous Wrigley or Fenway? Dumpster fires. A lot of seats are blocked by support beams so you can't even see. I do want the stadium moved downtown with that being said. Nobody really tailgates at royals games, and baseball is just better downtown. Arrowhea...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I think I'm in the minority here, but I think the NKC site stadium looks way too corporate for me. Also looks quite a bit larger. I like the less corporate more baseball look of the EV site. If any of that makes sense.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I was just hoping for a more creative rendering from KC's stadium design firms. Something that could help rotate the stadium around toward the city more. Get creative with the design to block any sun. I know it can be done. honestly you would think with how packed it is on that side of the city if ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I do wish they chose something else for the exterior. Brick or something. We're starting to have so much glass everywhere between 1,2,3 light and everything is glass.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

the main reason you build the roof is to become a player for more major national events. If they want to host a Super Bowl then add the roof. You want a Final 4 in KC, then add a roof. The roof will be retractable keep it open for all your games at home. yes it is a big investment, but adding it to...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

KC will get a deal on the private-public ratio. Chiefs will use their still-potential dynasty status to revamp that rundown parking lot into an exclusive Chiefs Kingdom Ent. District. Arrowhead will see renovations but Clark Hunt will keep the OG stadium to commemorate Lamar and Norma's (RIP) luv f...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

I don't think I'll ever be on board for a domed stadium for the chiefs just so they can host a few extra events a year. There are a few rare bands that actually sell out football stadiums one of which is Taylor swift, and she just comes here in the summer. Indoor football games feel to corporate. Ju...

Guessing by the time it’s all said and done this project will probably be down to 20-24ish floors.
