Re: Downtown office vacancy

Although Somera isn't ready to reveal specifics, it does plan to upgrade the 30-story, 663,656-square-foot office tower, spokeswoman Hope Wheeler told the Kansas City Business Journal. Located at 1100 Main St., City Center Square includes tenants such as the Kansas City Business Journal, Alight Ana...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

Two running against her Nope 11 or 12 running for mayor. Chastain got a distant third last time. With so many well known names he's at least going to be in 7th place. Three current council members are running unopposed, one replacement member is as well. A full third of the council is effectively a...

Re: Downtown office vacancy

My napkin math shows that the purchase and lease up to 85% of City Center Square will push the downtown class a vacancy down to around 9%

Someone tell me about Steve Miller. He has the second most cash on hand and talks about building infrastructure including expanding streetcar. Good background of running infrastructure projects which would be good for airport progress. Have never heard of him though.
Recent/ former head of MODOT.

These aren't exterior shots but they are renderings of what the rooms will look like. https://www.cvent.com/venues/kansas-city/hotel/loews-kansas-city-hotel-opening-may-2020/venue-335777ec-52ac-412a-a4f3-718511d01e56?aCode=GNNCYYGHQ83 Is the tax rate really going to be 18%? Re: We need a new airport!!!

^ Seems to me not a bad thing to see alternatives and then push Edgemoor to produce a better product and speed up work. They better get busy or they will lose this contract. Just getting the bid and skating isn’t going to get it done. Why would the Edgemoor team continue to sink millions more (at t...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

3 council members have approached AECOM and Burns and MAC for their updated numbers on a new terminal. How can we expect Edgemoor and the airlines to continue progress if we,the city, act like this? We want Edgemoor to continue to work at their own risk yet we also approach outside firms - letting E...

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

Project Price is now over $800million. Opportunity zones are being looked at due to potential financial bonuses. The East Loop and West Bottoms areas are both opportunity zones. West Bottoms sounds like the better option to me. Opinions?

This airport committee meeting makes me think we don't have the best people in the room to make this deal in city staff.
My belief in the need to replace a certain member of the city council has been reaffirmed.

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

FI announced today that they will ending service to BWI- a city they added alongside KC. This could mean that KCI service is not yet set in stone. However, I have heard that sales are strong so far. I'm pretty sure that this may not have anything to do with their KCI service. From what I gather, th...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

Sounds like Justin Meyer knows a few members of Moxy Air’s new development team. Hopefully we can get Moxy service or become a focus city. Moxy is a start up airline by the same guy who started JetBlue, Azul and who owns TAP and a few others. I have heard that this airline will focus heavily on tec...

Re: High Speed Rail - someday?

Land acquisition costs and legal expenses are extremely high. Its the main reason CalTrans project is way over budget. Literally paying almond farms decades of future profits for running HSR through their land. Chinese govt does not have that problem. Best bet is to upgrade shorter, highest density...

that line isn't just for the convention center....it's tapping into other buildings along the way and I was told it was a chiller line?
Makes sense. The Veolia plant produces both steam and chilled water for heating/cooling.

Re: "Flashcube" Building - 720 Main

They used to burn coal for the boilers. Anyone know how they do it now? Natural Gas Boilers are what have been used in all of the Central Utilities Plants that I have worked on. I can almost guarantee that is what’s being used here. I believe the electric generation portion of the plant also switch...
