Re: Kansas, Missouri battle over companies

Star article on USDA consolidation into KC. KC region being major animal/agriculture center and significant existing Fed employment apparently factors in decision. https://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/article231442813.html There should be enough downtown available space for 500 emplo...

Starland news.. https://www.startlandnews.com/2019/06/usda-kansas-city/ The USDA team is evaluating multiple Class A office properties in Kansas and Missouri for its 120,000-square-foot space, which will house both agencies and 568 employees. Would a busway exclude the ROW from future rail usage? Would actual commuter/light rail exclude the ROW from future freight service?

Barryroad/North Oak BRT, Linwood BRT or Streetcar, Indepence Ave BRT or Streetcar, Brookside/Waldo Streetcar. This planning is already underway. You just need to find the moneys, and that won't come from KCMO alone. REGIONAL FUNDING / BI-STATE / 2024 DO OR DIE Silly Silly. If we make the vehicles l...

Plan showed up today on Compass for conversion of 15th-17th floors from office to residential. Assuming this would be another 30 units based on the earlier conversion of 18-20.

KCDowntown
Is the plan to convert the entire building to residential as space becomes available?

Re: Hotel Bravo- 17th and Wyandotte

Does anyone know if this project is still being discussed this week for TIF consideration? Public Hearing at 10am Recommended Action: Approval of the plan and forwarding to City Council, Recommending Do Pass to the city council, etc IMHO: They should not take Hotel Bravo up until after the election...

Re: The Future of Crown Center

The most interesting quote from the article is non-three light related. Matt Zammar of Re/MAX Legacy, one of the area's leading condo agents, recently advised Winters that a developer plans at least one new condo tower in the Crown Center area. Nice catch. Might post over in CC thread. Interesting ...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

In regards to Icelandair: Flights are back up and running for the 2019 season. The first flight left with just a small handful of seats available. A few sample searches throughout June show about 70s-80s% of available seats have been reserved. That would be a ~90% rate on the 737 Max.

This building is........ Something that should have been built in Reno.. but KC got the bait and switch. Reno lucked out... And some firm made money on this... DAMN
I think we can all agree that this project turned out better as a Loews than it would a Hyatt.

“The Twain Building” project filed for a FAR variance in late May. Looks like they are adding square footage by adding floor to rooms with high ceilings..

VarenHorst is the project architect.

All 5 streetcars were running for a bit this morning, including 805 testing. It's down to 4 now. Testing patterns of having 5 at once?
5 maybe 6 car operation would be much appreciated on peak days (ex. First Fridays)

Re: Companies moving downtown

Same issue with the Loopnet page. The listing has the 500k+ sqft number but also has the 270k sqft in the description.

It may be interesting to note that the smaller version of 3rd Grand is pegged at 300k sqft. The taller tower would certainly cross into the 600k+ range. [the 300k figure seems high]

Re: Companies moving downtown

Wadell Reed currently leases about 300K sqft space with 1000 employees Actually, it looks like their total amount of space is coniserably higher than that. They lease 300k office plus 38k for disaster recovery (?) plus they own an additional 150k of office space. That would put their total close to...
