Thanks James. Haha it’s all good. Was just trying to see what you showed me would look like if built.

Re: We need a new airport!!!

expanding the gates by 4 didn't cause a year delay. That's insanity. The facility had to be "redesigned" to not just have 4 more gates but also the support structure for 7 more gates and be designed in a way for 15 more to be built. I'm saying that all these factors came together to creat...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

Not necessarily Edgemoor’s fault. They couldn’t have foreseen 1. The city’s pushback on the MOU. 2. The Airlines asking for a bigger terminal. 3. The FAA telling the avaiation department to slow it down. I think the other firms would likely have run into the exact same issues making their build tim...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

I think the argument that they couldn't have expected #3 is horse crap. That's their job and they've build new terminals before and thus should have understood the FAA wanted them to wait until environmental studies were complete. So, I can foresee 4-6 months delay for 1 and 2 but not for the FAA o...

Will they/when will they release an RFP for third parties interested in the streetcar expansion?

Re: We need a new airport!!!

They noted FAA, Airlines asking for bigger terminal, and something else(was it delayed MoU signing?) as the 3 primary drivers for the delay. Delay wasn’t considered to be very long

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

Have read a number of comments of twitter/Facebook saying “we need to build LR for the World Cup”. Hopefully World Cup fever and a wider desire for public transit will help regional rail efforts.

I guess my question is why not do debt instead of equity?

Equity=Ownership.
Debt=Borrow Money and eventually Pay it back.

Why is the Clay Chastain the only person/groups proposing anything?

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

If you do it as a DBOM -- design, build, operate and maintain -- with stable sources of revenue for 30 years, it's possible. That's just one of the scenarios to consider. Think about how the airport and convention center deals came together. FYI - The current operations contract is only five years....

Re: Capping the Loop

Do you think battery busses will replace rail? Streetcars on rail with overhead wires will be obsolete within five years. Battery and autonomous tech is finally reaching a level that will make them an obvious choice over streetcars for all kinds of reasons. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2fR6gCew...

Re: Capping the Loop

Let me just say I don't think KC will build any more new rail than River to UMKC. Is that because of the recent election that dictated that all of KC vote on future rail lines? Dave has said that TDD doesn’t really work outside of the current planned extensions. The 2014 plan to the east side only ...

Re: Capping the Loop

IIRC In MO, TDD can not be used for bus operations. Would be important to see how that works in Kansas. I don’t think not using diesel was ever the big driver of rail. It has always been its ability to run faster with higher capacities, to serve as a a transit backbone. Thus, battery powered busses...
