Re: Three Light

Couple surveyors were in this parking lot this morning and it was blocked off from parking. Maybe getting ready to start construction? I'm not sure they're there yet. Surveyors were testing the soil for One Cardinal Way in St. Louis about two months before the actual ground was broken. We'll see! A...

Re: 13th and Grand tower

Does anyone have any news on this? Or the Crown Center property? A deal is probably still trying to be worked out. With Drury next door at the KCPS block, that may change Copaken's plans but I don't know The Drury absolutely changes their plans if Copaken’s recent video was what they are actually p...

Re: H&R Block's Second Tower?

https://youtu.be/dkh2Qbqmy04 But will it be more unique than this vaporware? /s I expect a box on this site. The 13th and Grand tower should happen but I doubt it will. We will most likely see a stubby proposal on that lot. I don't expect either tower (13th and Grand or H&R2) to crack 10 floors. Yo...

Would think they’d want to build something taller on that lot

Re: H&R Block's Second Tower?

Must have been a different video, a hotel is not a part of this plan. I can't say any additional details, but watch for more information in the near future! Very likely. The 3 Light incentives issues with the city likely killed the hotel plan. They probably wanted a number of incentives for any hot...

Re: H&R Block's Second Tower?

Where did you see the video? H&R Block's offices? If it’s what was heard earlier this year, this video is showing a new Cordish involved hotel on the site of HR Block Tower 2. The old timeline from early this year had been to announce and potentially even break ground this year. That changed when t...

Re: H&R Block's Second Tower?

Recently saw a promo video for a possible tower on this site (directly west of H&R block tower). Won't be a new tallest or anything, but would certainly be a nice/unique addition to our skyline. I don't know any additional details or likelihood of the project happening, hoping the video is released...

It did seem more corporate than ever...even the smaller parties were generally a vendor of something.
Yea I didn’t really get why you’d go except for 1. being a sponsor or 2. Knowing a competitor.

Re: American Royal BBQ

I'd heard the event becomes more and more about private tents over the years. Additionally, I think there may have been a second flatter entrance towards the back left. Not sure how you make the entrance flatter since the entire track is banked. There is a tunnel that they were running a tram throu...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

https://www.kshb.com/news/local-news/kc-looking-to-improve-transportation-for-world-cub-bid The article really does not talk at all about transportation improvements. Instead the only thing of note is that Kansas City was scored the lowest of the remaining cities by United 2026. I really don't thin...

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront

Does anyone know the reason why they are choosing a concrete slab(expensive) over traditional ballast +ties(cheaper) for the actual river front portion of the expansion?

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

Icelandair would 100% raise prices in order to regain profitability.

WOWs demand is different than Icelandair in the same way that Spirits is different than SWA or Delta. Thus, I don’t think Icelandair would grow to all of WOWs US markets, at least not immediately.

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

I also found this thread on a.net after doing some digging talking about their financials a couple week ago. Doesn't seem like anything super dire, although they are looking for more money. I also can't see Iceland letting them go under at least at the moment, they are making too much off tourism (...

Re: Strongtown: Suggestions for KC's downtown streets

I have seen the 3D maps of the parts of KC that are financially beneficial and those that are not. The entire Northland is not even close to paying for itself now. You can't just use property tax as a proxy for value of an area. It's way more complex than that. How does it adjust for tax breaks and...

Re: Hotel Bravo- 17th and Wyandotte

The colored renderings look like absolute trash.(like Dreary In). However, the white renderings on the architects website actually look really nice. The hotel looks like the convention hotel from the east, the Center from the south, and somethinf complete unique from the west.

Re: Hotel Bravo- 17th and Wyandotte

I wonder if they are in Kahoots with the other property owner then. It makes no sense to build the stairs otherwise. Since the hotel envisions leaving half the parcel as a green field, do you think there is some sort of phase 2? Any ideas for why the empty field would be left and what it would/could...
