Re: Next Mayor 2019

Justus is doing a terrific job pulling in cash. In fact, she raised close to the combined Lucas/Miller take in. If the airport takes off soon, which appears to be the case, I think she will get a boost in the polls. Related, some of the council members who have been against the project or developer ...

Good progress has been made on excavating the east portion of the lot. Walked past a few nights ago and it looked like the excavating work could be close to completion.

A large mobile crane is on site. Does anyone know if this was planned or being done to keep on schedule?

Re: We need a new airport!!!

Pittsburgh to build new $1.1 billion terminal with spectacular hilly roof. Pitt also has natural gas extraction revenues, more warehousing revenues, and a much bigger cargo operation. IMHO we should be focusing a lot more on expanding our air cargo and airport adjacent manufacturing and logistic sp...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

I know we don't have a chance of landing this airline but I really think Tap Portugal is gonna see huge growth in next 5 years in the states. They offer free stopovers in Portugal similar to what IcelandAir is doing and the fares have been dirt cheap. I see Portugal as a much more attractive travel...

^ Yeah, Glenn is probably my least favorite candidate. I’d take most anyone over him. Soooo, he’ll probably win. :(
I’d be surprised if he did.

KCMO is also a lot more spread out than all of the suburbs. JoCo is very compact and in a simple grid making for multiple passes very easy. I find it shocking from the furthest point north to furthest south is like 50 some miles. Not many major cities are that long. Maybe LA but that's about it Sor...

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

Is anyone else not a fan of this design? It feels very car centric.

I agree with TLG, putting some new market stalls or buildings there would be a better option.

Re: Next Mayor 2019

Miller has made no real stands on most issues. Most of what we know about him stems from his time at MODOT, where he continued the highway agenda. He also seems to support Hyperloop as a real transit option for the state. I would say more highways and Hyperloop are both failures and distractions fro...

Miller is using Axiom strategies - the same consultant behind Sam Graves, iirc Kevin Yoder, Ted Cruz for President, etc. They are a very experienced (but expensive) group. If he can bring in money , which he has, then they can push him into the top 2/3.

You are absolutely right. Their attitude towards constituents can cause a loss by just a few votes. They often don't realize this. Long-serving politician staffs say that their candidate often keeps winning (even where their party might be outnumbered) because they are excellent at dealing with con...

Why is the flight to Toronto so late in the day though? It doesn’t arrive until 8PM which makes it irrevalant as a stopover to European destinations.
AC just added a fourth daily flight to STL. It would be interesting to see if that route is O/D or connecting.
