Re: 1822 Main Redevlopment

There are many buildings 6+ floors built around metro often. The properties along streetcar are the most primo real estate in the metro. Sad to see it attracts such small developments. Was expecting more big ticket national developers to be lining up by now. There are some but not as many as I'd ex...

Re: NFL Draft

I'm not a sports fan and I don't understand this whole thing. So, hundreds of thousands of football fans are so familiar with draftees - college players, I assume - that they travel however far and stand in a street so they can cheer when a certain draftee is selected (or whatever) by a pro footbal...

Re: 1822 Main Redevlopment

Found this from 2016, different plans now? Would hope for something more substantial... Kansas City’s B&G Realty Investments has a contract to purchase two buildings at 1818 and 1822 Main St. — 6,000 square feet each — and will renovate them for retail, restaurant and office use. “We are looking fo...

Re: OFFICIAL - Corrigan Building

Corrigan Station 1 leased for $20-30 per sqft. Station 2 is on LoopNet for $38 per sqft - a pretty healthy increase. You may remember the October CitySceneKC article that noted rents of $34-35 per sqft would spur new build offices. CS2 leasing quickly at its proposed rate would put us solidly above ...

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

I think the best chance they have to keep the Arabia museum in Kansas City is to talk one of the local casinos into making it an on-site attraction; or in Missouri, is to find some private developer in Branson who would include it in some attraction. Isle of Capri: Casino, Hotel, and Steam Boat Leg...

New KCMO Master Plan - 2019

22 years ago, Kansas City began the “Forging Our Comprehensive Urban Strategy (FOCUS)” Plan. This year (2019) the city will embark on a long over due, replacement master plan. Before the new plan starts rolling, I highly recommend Raggers check out the current FOCUS Plan. Revisiting the FOCUS plan h...

Re: Affordable Housing

We will never be able to subsidize enough housing for these people. However, we can invest in education and public transit needed to get these people better jobs with low barriers of entry. Think of how much good we could do with MoDots road expansion budget alone.
