Re: Westport

Shit I thought they were just fixing the roof?

But if they’re demoing it it’s probably for even more parking because the true spirit of Kansad City is an overweight white male with BBQ stains on his Charlie Hustle shirt as he chugs a gallon of gasoline.

Re: Kansas City Tour Trolleys, time to bring them back!

Hey, it's 2017 and we have two companies providing tourist-oriented tours of KC. Anyway, I found a vaguely appropriate threat to post this Pitch article, wherein David Hudnall uses going on a double-decker tour as a framing device to point out that he *really* doesn't like the direction that downto...

I kind of wish people were taxed higher for just sitting on land or taxed for leaving stores go vacant then they get tax breaks for doing something with the building or leasing out the building You mean incentivizing growth across the board instead of subsidizing inactivity and speculation by a sma...

Re: Amazon searching for second HQ

Whatever, Amazon would screw us anyways. I’m not sure a giant, subsidized campus would be good for downtown anyways. We should focus on attracting lots of regional offices, not sell ourselves short for 1 giant employer.

Still it’s very clear there’s a severe lack of vision amongst city leadership.

Re: Main Street MAX

Or just take street parking off Main and make the curb lane a true, dedicated ROW like a real BRT line would have. Oh and do that on Troost and Prospect too. And yeah, local service in Waldo? Nuh uh. Nope. Get rid of it. And get some of those smart kiosks on the MAX line so they’re already there whe...

What’s the expected outcome to this? And do we expect the city-wide rail vote ordinance to cause any significant delay in phase 2?

Re: KC in TV and Movies

Boo! Fucking boo! Will they just give a TV show to any moron with a lack of aesthetics?! I’m becoming more and more convinced Kansas Citians should NOT be involved in decisions related to revitalizing Kansas City. We’ve become too poisoned by suburban “culture”. God damn this bullshit.

Few people want to live in Columbus or Lawrence. Kansas City’s a little bit more easy to stomach.

None of this matters without a major employer moving to downtown. A skyline full of empty spec buildings is without substance anyways.

Ruby Jean's Juicery on Troost opened this Saturday. I went and checked it out today. This is going to be a great addition to Troost. Urban Cafe was a great addition earlier this year and Ruby Jean's may be an ever bigger deal, especially in it's ability to bring people to Troost who might otherwise...
