Urban North Development off North Oak Trafficway

I am starting a new thread for the Urban North development on North Oak and NE 100th Street. It's significant in that the development is building green, modern-style, housing instead of the usual tan, peaked roof subdivision housing that is all around the Metro. The houses look like what is being bu...

Re: Regional GDP

Re: Proposed tower on Plaza

Regardless of ACTUAL historical nature of the church, don't the landowners need to either consent or object to a third party's petition for historic status? At least w/ regard to the National Register, the committee is not allowed to designate over the owner's protests. Does this type of limitation...

Re: Shoal Creek Valley Neighborhood Plan

I wish these new neighborhoods connected more streets, so one doesn't get caught in these cul-de-sac gulags that force people to drive out of the way just to get over to the next street. I'm surprised the fire/emergency and police departments don't intervene with the city council and tell them how t...

From the article, this statement says it all: Nonetheless, the entire metro is Balkanized. There’s Downtown and Midtown. The Downtown Loop. The Crossroads. Westport. Waldo. North Kansas City and Kansas City, North. In JoCo you have the Shawnee Mission East, West, Northwest, North and South school di...

I wish these congregations would get together to share and maintain existing church buildings -- like Seventh Church of Christ Scientist on the Plaza, so those buildings can maintained and not sold to developers for office towers. Surely they can time their services where three or four congregations...

I think Cerner and AMC Theaters are probably the only local companies that have regularly acquired other businesses.
