I hate that they have that parking lot/plaza in front of the building to the left. The entire building should front Troost.

What do you do about all the hotels that have built their convention business around the current location being walkable--Loew's and Marriott for example? One of the major justifications for the Power & Light District was luring more convention business to the existing location. You are advocati...

I'm surprised they haven't considered converting the American Royal complex for something like this. It's near Hy-Vee Arena and there might be crossover use there.

Re: Real Estate Listings of Interest (Metrowide)
My understanding is that the townhomes must have an HOA--for themselves--for common areas and common physical structures, like adjoining roofs. The rowhomes should not fall under laws governing condos and pre-sale. It would seem to me the way to go would be townhomes/row house, that share common wa...

Re: Real Estate Listings of Interest (Metrowide)
Rowhouses and townhouses are charming, but bear in mind when developing that many older people who are looking to downsize, need places with no stairs. Makes the hunt for affordable housing as an elder even more difficult. There is also an old-timey solution like this that could be placed randomly ...

It's being done on the West Side. Much of the rebuilding of the neighborhood has been done in "one-off" situations where a developer has built one house and sold it, or someone commissioned a house to be built. https://www.google.com/maps/@39.0894013,-94.5934237,3a,48.2y,32.42h,102.98t/dat...

^ Many people are not counted an unemployed because they have literally given up looking for work. Perhaps those workers who left the wor...

Sadly, that tale is often the case and why it takes so long to redevelop even vacant parcels. If I were a large developer, I'd create a master plan for the CP acreage with streets, sidewalks, alleys, landscaping, etc. and divide it into smaller parcels. I'd have other small developers build just a f...

I should have been more specific in that the new design makes subtle reference to streamline moderne art deco in its use of vertical bands. The vertical bands didn't exist in previous designs.
