This is a troubling issue because it has implications for every historic district in the City. A precedent has now been set where any property within an already existing historic district can be removed by the City. Children's Mercy Hospital has begun construction of another building on the north side of E. 22nd Street, and west of Holmes. Are you sure they weren't installing new gas lines? They are doing it all over the Northeast right now, and it requires tearing up sidewalks and curbs, and replacing them once they have installed the new gas lines.
