Virginia tends to only vote blue during the big elections--meaning a lot of Democrats only come out to vote in elections for governor, senator, and president. Outside the cities, there are lots of Republican voters who always vote. Virginia would be probably be consistently blue if Democrats voted i...

Re: Old Federal Reserve (925 Grand)

The Fed sold their building in 2005--12+ years ago. That is plenty of time to plan and redevelop. The Commerce Tower renovation started well after that, and it's as big a project. The One Light Tower was built from scratch and started well after that time. Two Light will be be mostly completed befor...

Re: Old Federal Reserve (925 Grand)

This is by far the most frustrating real estate problem in downtown right now. I can't believe it's taking so long to do this. There are buildings that no one even thought about before that are now under construction, or renovation, that started well after this one was announced. This shouldn't be s...

I must admit I'm surprised that it passed by such a larger majority. I was worried it would fail, and nothing would happen for another 20 years.

The best news is that those buildings will probably have new owners soon. The financial institution that foreclosed on them will probably put them up for sale.

I agree JBMidtown. Many people can't keep up properties themselves either because of limited financial resources, or lack of skill. They need affordable multi-residential housing. There is an affordability crisis for many people, so having any apartment building sitting empty is a waste. The reason ...

If Trump fires Mueller, it's very likely that the New York State Attorney General will hire Mueller & team to join his state investigation. That might be the better route, since state prosecutions would be out of reach of any Trump pardons. A state investigation's findings, if shocking enough, c...

So is the plan now to develop the lots north of 29th Street on both sides of McGee Trafficway themselves; or will they be sold to other developers (most likely the ones doing The Gallerie--UC-B Properties/Milhaus--in a future phase)?

When are they supposed to build the gym/clubhouse building for the Union Hill apartments? I think it was planned to go on the NW corner of 29th and McGee Trafficway? Is that still part of the development plan?

These buildings are so handsome. It's hard to believe that they came so close to being demolished. The larger building done in red, instead of that creamy color it was before, really makes it pop out.
