Re: West 39th Street Apartments

To make any progress, and win these battles, the density argument must be made about taxes--earnings, property, and sales. The whole reason the earnings tax exists is because property and sales taxes don't provide enough revenue for the city. The reason they don't is because Kansas City is not dense...

Where does this end? Will neighborhood associations be able to dictate how many people living in a household can own and drive cars in the neighborhood? Will a household with four active drivers be prevented from buying, or living, in the neighborhood lest they create more traffic? Cities have traff...

Where are the new jobs? Studies say Missouri winning border war For years Kansas created the most new jobs in the Metro. That's not the case now. The report says Kansas is 50th in job creation nationally. Missouri is 14th in the nation for new jobs. The last three years, Missouri has accounted for ...

There is also 4400 Washington - 188 units- (although I think it still needs approval and other proposals had previously been shot down due to density): https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Z_RxoMy9vOboRIaUukRaxo2-5GYOqBI9CyqU_69Z_027gdC0lU8QsjMBnlrDsyNEcOZbQrAA9sP56MIH8e7DeTwZ_AitWjfKGiuMNXnzfDekMDJRs...

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

I don't get the need for the stadium to be within the downtown loop. I would think you would reserve parcels within the loop for 5-to-7 days-a-week uses year-round instead of a few days each month for just a few months out of the year. A stadium seems to be a downtown-adjacent thing.

I hope this gets worked out. This stretch of retail buildings should have been renovated by now and have businesses in them. It could really be a nice section of mixed uses.

I have a feeling that some of the creative Crossroads will eventually move to areas like the retail node on Troost from 31st south. I think some artists are already around there. There are enough old retail storefronts on the west side (to Linwood) to create a stretch of art-related businesses, coff...

Re: Troost developments

I think the City will eventually expand this program east to the area around 27th/Linwood and Prospect. I read awhile back that a vast majority of the single family houses in this area are rentals (over 80 percent), and the City seeks to get more homeowners in the area.
