Re: Muehlebach Hotel / KC Club Project

This is a different building than one Epoch owns around 9th & Baltimore(which became the KC Club after it merged with the University Club). The "KC Club" for this project is the one that housed the club from the 1920's to about 2000, then became the Clubhouse on Baltimore and now the B...

Muehlebach Hotel / KC Club Project

On the just released LCRA agenda there is a project that calls for the renovation of the KC Club building into a 144-room upscale hotel, the Muehlebach into 117 apartments, new construction of a 4-story office building and a 360-stall parking garage. This work is bounded by 12th to the north, 13th t...

This project shows up on the Chapter 353 meeting agenda on May 23rd for trying to earn a blight designation. A brief description of the project included in the notes says, "Includes the construction of a new apartment complex with approximately 300 residential units, commercial space, and relat...

I'll second that - when they were planning phase 1 I had wanted the route to be more of a loop. Having it run down the same street works so much better.

On the live cam it looks like they are putting in the base of another tower crane on the upper portion of the construction site.

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

Here are yesterday's presentations. I question the need for a 43rd and 45th stop. I agree it seems like overkill... Three stops in a half mile (43rd/45th/Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd) is the same density of stops as inside the loop. My first thought was if the presence of the 45th street stop is an indi...

Re: Fantasy Retrofits: Barney Allis Plaza

I'm of the opinion that the park needs the residential development on top of it. A park is a reflection of its surroundings, and right now it is surrounded by only large single uses, which to me translates to a sporadically used park. It will have moments when its busy (i.e. lunch on a beautiful day...

Re: Big, empty buildings. What's left?

Anybody heard anything about this? https://twitter.com/KCMarriottDT/status/978346298335289344 Guessing it is something going in the ground floor of the Muehlebach hotel along Baltimore. Last plan I know of for this space was the owners of the Cashew wanting to put a bar in here called the Acorn - bu...

There's a rendering I don't think we've seen before in this document prepared for the Chapter 353 board.

FYI - It is marked as a preliminary rendering, but it has the building at approx 30 stories, and a roofline that tilts eastward over the top 4 stories

The development tracker has the general development plan for the East Crossroads Milhaus development at 19th & Oak. 3 phases to the plan, which is still preliminary: Phase 1: 70-unit, rectangular 4-5 story building facing 19th with street-level retail 78-unit, rectangular 5 story building facing...

KCDowntown - what did you make of the other agenda items? The Main st. project rings a bell. What about the 19th and Oak line item? This is 100% conjecture, but the only project I know of in this area is the new Milhaus development - 19th & Oak is the NW corner of that block of land they just b...

Based on the webcam, it looks like the mobile crane they'll use to put up the tower crane is on site. BTW - this mobile crane looks like its going to be enormous.

The base was located on the NE quadrant of the development site. Just as an FYI - I only saw it out of the corner of my eye, so I didn't see if the location was permanent or not.
