908 Baltimore (The LaRue Printers Building) has a tenant finish permit today on CompassKC for converting the first floor to a cafe. There are no details in the permit on what cafe it will be. But it does indicate that the architect is Hermanos Design , who's recent work includes Mildred's in the Cr...

Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.

There is a plan on compasskc to renovate the American Red Cross building at 211 W Armour Blvd into 67 apartments. The permit, and multiple diagrams and renderings (on the attachments tab) are located here . I might be reading the diagrams wrong but it appears the building will have 13 basement apart...

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

A ballpark downtown would bring 2 million people a year to the area (and not just people from the KC). IMO, It would be a huge missed opportunity if it went elsewhere.

There are a couple new renderings located on the Compass KC Permit site... Go to to 'Attachment' tab for this permit . There are two files that are worth downloading - the one titled 'Event Lawn UR Submission' and another called 'NE Expansion Drawing.' The event lawn one has rendering of the outside...

My understanding is that Spokes is still negotiating with the potential new owners of the building. Nothing is final yet until (unless) the building sale goes through. Until then, Scooters will be there and the closing is not imminent.

Re: Are downtown apartment occupancy rapidly trending down?

The LCRA documents for the Muehlbach apartment/office/hotel project had some vacancy figures for some buildings downtown that I thought I'd pass along... P&L Apartments - 291 units - 10.0% vacancy (29) - Opened 2016 531 Grand - 185 units - 4.3% vacancy (8) - Opened 2017 River Market West - 137 units...

Re: Are downtown apartment occupancy rapidly trending down?

I think if you stepped out of your doors 12 years ago and then the next time you stepped out was today you'd be shocked by the change...seeing it every day we miss the growth over the past decade. I lived downtown from 1998 - 2012, and there is no comparison from that time to today. Downtown street...

Re: Are downtown apartment occupancy rapidly trending down?

I remembered that there was another article in CitySceneKC earlier this year that mentioned the occupancy rate at the Union. I looked it up and on 6/27/2018 they had 100 units rented. As of today's article 172 units (42% of 410) are rented. That is 72 units rented in 22 weeks or 3.2 a week. At this ...
