1) None of these buildings are going to be standing in 100 years. 2) I hope individual car ownership goes the way of the Dodo, but we're not there yet. And, to be honest, we're not particularly close. 3) Acting like you know what's going to happen in 100 years may make you feel better about your arg...

Re: Misc Crossroads News

YJ's is in limbo, its relocated to a superior location at 18th & Washington but currently not a restaurant. A pair of artists are attempting to crowdfund 10K and re-invent the place. Its an entangled situation I won't attempt to detangle. Here's a local news story, and the gofundme page can be g...

Re: Cactuses and Palms Trees in KC?

That is why I love KC.  Within 30 miles, you have all kinds of terrain and plant life.  You've got forests, rocky desert-like areas, steep hills and bluffs, plains, etc.  Great place to be a lover of the outdoors and almost as many sunny days as Southern California.  KC rules. Hell of a cherry-pick...

Kawliforno's! Grand opening 1 April 2020. Taking the integration of the rustic and urban to the highest level.

In Real News- Fedex Kinko's is in the process of opening in the old Freebirds spot. No more Plaza location, its now Westport.

Hopefully relocating eventually. http://www.pitch.com/news/blog/20980442/blind-tiger-is-closing-apparently-due-to-a-crazy-dispute-with-its-landlord It’s likely not reopening anytime soon unfortunately. It’s a bummer because now underground/non-mainstream rock-type Music that on...

Yes, but I believe the business name is inspired by John Steinbeck's "East of Eden".

Bob Wasabi, best sushi in town.
This is a major story for Midtown. Does the same landlord own the building that houses Prospero's?

Los Alamos Market, 1667 Summit on the Upper Westside, renovated their building with an all-window storefront. The view faces the west and is epic. Still serving up the same great grub

Re: West Plaza

Between 46th, 48th, Stateline and the plaza, I count 18 houses currently in active construction or in the development pipeline. Pretty crazy considering there are hardly any vacant lots. Most of the tear downs have been functional obsolete homes. In my opinion, this is great for the neighborhood an...

Glad this thread was started. West Plaza is an interesting community. Very vocal on Nextdoor and FB groups. They have some challenges unique to Midtown. Not necessarily within West Plaza, but likely of interest: I heard word of mouth that a local brewery and bar is opening in the shops near Hi-Hat o...
