Re: Hammer's Piano Bar: 39th and Main

Apologies if this was already posted elsewhere (I can't find it), but a new Piano Bar is planned to go into the building at the southeast corner of 39th and Main. It'll be able to hold around 240+/- people. It seems like the old bank drive-thru will be removed in favor of an outdoor patio. Exact ow...

Re: Architectural Salvage

I’m in need of some nice historical pieces for a new old house I’m purchasing and am not sure where else in town might have a similar doors, windows, fireplace surrounds, doork...

Re: Oak Park Mall Update

I hear a rumor from an employee at the Plaza H&M that they would be opening another store in Oak Park in the Eddie Bower space (which he said would be moving to the Guess space). Is this on here somewhere already or can anybody confirm?

Yeah, I saw the scientology posters too. But what were the Guy Fawkes masks about? (i.e. Boo for Tom Cruise, yea for gunpowder???)

Re: Hereferd House & Midwest Hotel For Sale

Hard to picture the HH moving - they still seam to do a pretty steady business there.  I wonder if they just plan to sell the property and lease back their own space? The Star: [The Hereford House's owner] "said the best outcome would be for a developer to purchase the combined properties and ...

Re: Bell Street Mamas - 39th Street

They opened yesterday. According to a couple of waitresses, they are busier than hell and stil working out the details. There is a more extensive thread about this somewhere on here.

Re: Antonio's Pizza

Antonio's in midtown has closed according to the Star. I'm so sad to hear that. One of my first memories of KC was six years ago after being told about an obscenely enormous, double-decker slice with enough meat to make a vegan faint. -and being offered "candy" in the parking lot as I swe...

Are these streets right? (Just trying to orient myself in the picture) If so, was the Main onto Brookside Blvd bridge previously a streetcar only route?

Seconded. I think its the layout for me. It reminds me of how it feels to be inside Ameristar.

Those new windows look swanky.

...despite my fondness for the scale of old, metal, divided-light industrial windows. I guess you can't ever save everything.
