Re: P&L District: 13th & Main Site Proposal

OK, gotta say it....I really like Bice.  Not the greatest food on the planet but if you are going to eat down at the Power & Light and are not out for a steak or BBQ where else would you go?  Prices are not that crazy and the food is decent.  It is not the heavy cheese layered Italian that is al...

St. Patrick's Parade Moving to Westport

In todays KC Star, it was announced the St. Patricks Day parade would be moving to Westport this year.  Kinda thought it would be nice to have the parade go down the traditional route on Grand, then some of the people from the 'berbs would have a chance to see Grand with the new store fronts, power ...

Love YJ's!  After a night out, it's great to walk there and have breakfast at 3 AM... and it's soooo good.  The people are gritty, grundgy and interesting... it's such a Crossroads type place... It's wonderful!

Re: Did the bubble burst on the Xroads?

Parking is the issue!!!  That is why McGee street is not packed.  That is an area with nothing but potential. The existing locations are small enough to hold several boutique shops.  I could even see street art shows there where the street is blocked off.  Some examples of the parking failure are th...

Re: Downtown Hereford House Explosion

I just walked by, my guess is if they do rebuild it will be a LONG time.  There is major damage.  You can see on the 20th street side where the explosion happend.  There is a large hole.  It looks like the fire fighters cut into the baltimore side of the building as well.  20th street is still block...

Re: Are Downtowns in Danger of Going Downhill Again?

The problem with downtown Tampa was they had too much speculation in the housing market.  It got too hot too fast.  There were already a ton of people moving to Florida and they over heated the market.  This is not some thing that KC or any other Missouri city should have to worry about for some tim...

Re: Bringing/Incubating small businesses Downtown

I do agree with replacing the e-tax as well but agree that we would have to come up with another alternative to the e-tax.  If the people that have the money for venture capital firms do not live in KC because of the e-tax.  They listen to the sound advice of thier attorneys and accountants and real...

Western Auto building has a pattio.  It is really neat being up there under the glow of the sign.  No garden though.

Re: Crossroads Graffiti

So does anyone know who this guy really is??  The other graffiti person (certainly not an artist) that I cannot stand is the person that uses a pump sprayer (like you would use with weed killer) and sprays huge letters.  He has hit a couple of buildings in the crossroads.  I'd love take a baseball b...

Didn't Chastain's plans call for a gondola?  Maybe a haunted gondola ride threw the tunnel to the haunted houses in the West Bottoms.
